The people of Nepal are of several different tribes and speak different languages. In the higher valleys live the Tibetans while in the center and west live the Newars and the Gurkhas. The Sherpas, another mountain tribe of Nepal, have become famous as porters and guides for international climbing expeditions. The Gurkhas belong to the Hindu religion, but some of the Nepalese have embraced Buddhism. There are a number of schools and a University in Nepal.  The capital is Kathmandu, a town of about 2,35,000 people with narrow streets of brick houses and many fine temples. Timber and tourism are major industries.

අතීතයට අයත් බොහෝ දේ අප උත්සාහ කර දමන්නේ අමතක කර දමන්නටය. අප සිතන්නට පුරුදු වී සිටින්නේ ඒවා මේ වර්තමානයට නොගැළැපෙන දේ ලෙසය.
සාමාජයේ කලාතුරකින් අසන්නට ලැබෙන සේ ඇතැම් දරුවන් තම මව්පියන් පවා අමතක කර දමන්නේ ඔවුන් ද අතීතයට ගැළැපෙන අය සේ සිතා විය හැකිය. එහෙත් තමන් ද කවදා හෝ අතීතයට නතු වන බව ඔවුන්ට අමතකය.

            අපේ මතකයෙන් බැහැර කළ නොහැකි එසේම එසේ නොකරන්නයි අපේ යටි හිත විසින් අපට බල කරන බොහෝ දේ අපේ ජීවිත තුළ සැඟ වී පවතී.

අතීතයෙන් ඇසුනු මිහිරි පැරණි ගීත එසේ යටපත් වී ඇති එහෙත් කිසි දා අමතක නොවන මතක සටහන් තබා ඇති බව අප පිළිගත යුතුය.

දැන් පැරණි ගීත අසන උදවිය නැතිය. නැති නම් බෙහෙවින් අඩුය.

පැරණි ගීත ගයන්නට  ඉදිරිපත් වන අවස්ථා නම් අපට වරින්වර දකින්නට අසන්නට ලැබේ.  එවැනි අවස්ථා උදා වෙන්නේ 'තරු' තෝරන තරගවලදීය. 

          අනෙක් හැමදාම එපායැයි කියන, අසන්නට අප්‍රිය කරන පැරණි ගීත; තරගවලදී නම් 'අනේ හොඳයි, අගෙයි' කියා පිළිගන්නා බව දැක තිබේ. එවැනි අවස්ථාවලදී නම් ඒවායේ ගුණ ගයන්නට බොහෝ අය ඉදිරිපත් වනු දැක ගත හැකිය.

වළපල්ලට යමින් ඇති පැරණි ගීත ඒ තත්ත්වයෙන් මුදා ගන්නට ඉදිරිපත් වී සිටින අතළොස්සක් දෙනා අප රට තුළ ඇති බව අවිවාදිතය. ඒ අතළොස්ස අතරින් කිසියම් සක්‍රීය ස්වභාවයකින් කටයුතු කරන පානදුර, කෙසෙල්වත්තේ 'පැරණි ගී රසික කැල'  ප්‍රමුඛ ස්ථානයක ඇති බව කීම සාධාරණය.   

          පානදුර, කෙසෙල්වත්ත 'පැරණි ගී රසික කැල' සංවිධානයට දහතුන් වසරක අඛණ්ඩ මෑත ඉතිහාසයක් ඇත්තේය. එහි නිර්මාතෘවරිය වන්නේ කෙසෙල්වත්තේ, සී. හෙට්ටිආරච්චි මහත්මියයි. සාමවිනිසුරු පදවියක් ද දරන ඇය දැඩි කැපවීමක් හා පරිශ්‍රමයක් දරමින් 'පැරණි ගී රැක ගැනීමේ' සිය සම්මා ව්‍යායාමය දරමින් සිටින්නීය.

            සංවිධානයේ ආරම්භයේ සිටම ඇය එහි ප්‍රධාන සංවිධයකත්වයත්, ගරු සභාපති ධූරයත් දරන්නීය. සංගමයට අයත් සාමාජික සාමාජිකාවන් බුරුතු පිටින් නැතත් එහි රැඳී සිටින සහ තම අරමුණට ගෞරවයෙන් යුතුව සලකන පිරිසක් සභාපතිතුමියගේ සහායට නිරන්තරයෙන් ඇය හා රැඳී සිටිති.  

              ඒ නිසා ඇයත්, පැරණි ගී රැක ගැනීමට ඇය ගන්නා උත්සාහයත් හුදෙකලා නොවන තත්ත්වයක පවතී.                     

          සෑම වසරකම වෙසක් බැති ගී සරණියක් මෙන්ම පැරණි ගීත ප්‍රසංගයක් ද මෙම සංවිධානය මඟින් පවත්වනු ලැබේ. 

2019 ඔක්තෝබර් දහතුන්වැනි දා මාතර, කෝට්ටේගොඩ, බෙලිවත්ත ග්‍රාමයේදී පවත්වනු ලැබුවේ මෙම වසර සඳහා වූ පැරණි ගීත ප්‍රසංගයයි.
           පැරණි ගීත ප්‍රසංගය බෙලිවත්ත ප්‍රදේශයේ පැවැත්වීමට බෙහෙවින් මූලික වූ කරුණක් විය. එය, තවත් සංවිධාන කටයුත්තක ප්‍රගතිය උදෙසා වූ දිරි දීමක් සේ හැඳින්වීම නිවැරැදිය. 
          

මාතර, කෝට්ටේගොඩ, බෙලිවත්තේ 'පාරමිතා මිත්‍රත්ව සංසදය' ආරම්භ කොට ඇත්තේ බෙහෙවින් යහපත් අරමුණු කිහිපයක්ම මුල් කර ගෙනය. ඒ අරමුණු හැම එකකින්ම ගම්‍ය වන්නේ කුඩා දරුවාගේ සිට වැඩිමහල් උදවිය දක්වා අරුත්බර පසුබිමක් යටතේ නගා සිටු වීමය. ඒ අරමුණු ඉටු කර ගැනීම සඳහා වඩාත් රමණීය වටපිටාවක් සකස් කොට ගැනීමේ අපේක්‍ෂවෙන් යුතුව පැරණි ගීත ප්‍රසංගය බෙලිවත්තේ පැවැත්වීම සඳහා සම්බන්ධීකරණ කටයුතු ඉටු කළේ  සුජාතා උයන්ගොඩයි.

         ඇය සිය ගම් පළාතේ පිහිටුවා ඇති පාරමිතා මිත්‍රත්ව සංවිධානයට දිරි දීමක් මෙන්ම පැරණි ගීත ප්‍රසංගය සඳහා වඩාත් හොඳ වටපිටාවක් සකස් කොට ගැනීමේ අරමුණින් යුතුව අනෙක් සියලු දෙනා සමග සහයෝගයෙන් කටයුතු කිරීමේ ඉහළ ප්‍රතිඵල දැක ගත හැකි විය.  

     බෙලිවත්ත ප්‍රදේශයේ පිහිටුවා ගෙන ඇති පාරමිතා මිත්‍රත්ව සංවිධානයේ අරමුණු සියල්ල දිශානත කොට ඇත්තේ පුද්ගල යහපත වෙනුවෙනි. කුඩා දරුවාගේ සිට වැඩිමහලු අය දක්වාම එහි සාක්ෂාත් කිරීම් කදිමට ගළපා ඇත්තේය. ඔවුන්ගේ මේ යහපත් අපේක්‍ෂාවන් ප්‍රදේශයේ විහාරස්ථානයේ ප්‍රධාන භික්‍ෂූන් වහන්සේගේ ද ඇගැයීමට ලක් වූහ.

          මේ උත්සාව සභාවට ගම්වාසීන් මෙන්ම ගම් ප්‍රදේශයේ ප්‍රභූන් කිහිප පොළක්ම සහභාගී වූවා පමණක් නොව උත්සව කටයුතු අවසානය දක්වාම ඒ බොහෝ දෙනෙකු රැඳී සිටීමත් විශේෂත්වයක් විය.

              බුද්ධාභිවන්දන ගීතයෙන් උත්සව සභාවේ ගීතමය වැඩ සටහන ආරම්භ විය. ඉන්පසුව අසන්නට ලැබුණේ සරස්වතී දේවිය සිහිපත් කරමින් ගායනා කළ ගීතයකි. 

               මින්මතු ඔබට දකින්නට ලැබෙන්නේ කෙසෙල්වත්ත, 'පැරණි ගී රසික කැල' සංවිධානයේ සාමාජික සාමාජිකාවන් සිය ගායනා ඉදිරිපත් කළ අයුරුයි. ඔබට අසන්නට ලැබෙන්නේ ඔවුන් ගායනා කළ ගීතවල මුල් ගායනා ඉදිරිපත් කළ ශිල්පීන්, ශිල්පිනියන්ගේ එම ගැයුම්වල කොටස් ඔවුන්ගේ හඬින්මය. ඒ ඔවුන්ට ගෞරව පිණිසය.
